How We Met Maruay

Maruay showed up quietly one day, eating the food we had been leaving outside for Numchoke — who we originally believed was a feral cat.

The day Maruay chose us

We don’t know where he came from or what his kittenhood was like. There are no stories from before — only the moment he showed up and the quiet trust that followed.

Over time, the feral cat softened into the gentlest soul in the house. He learned routines, followed commands, and discovered that laps were far better than balconies.

Safe, warm, and finally home

Neighbors later told us they sometimes saw Maruay walking calmly alongside Numchoke — a quiet reminder that even the most unexpected friendships can grow naturally.

How We Met Numchoke

Numchoke originally belonged to a neighbor. Over time, he began spending more of his days with us — exploring freely, then returning as if testing a new home.

One neighbor summed him up perfectly, calling him a “free spirit.” Eventually, it became clear that Numchoke had already chosen where he belonged.

Choosing his own path

After an open conversation, his previous owner kindly allowed us to officially adopt him. Even then, Numchoke never stopped being himself.

Resting after a long journey

What he explores, Maruay grounds. What he brings home, Maruay finishes. Together, they became a familiar sight around the neighborhood — and an unlikely pair that somehow fits perfectly.
